I was checking updates on someones blog and for lack of a better term I followed a rabbit trail to you. I will be very interested in hearing your music, but I am almost sure I must have heard it before now and did not realize it.

I was very touched by the title of your book written about the journey you had with your wife and I am not sure if everyone that reads that title will know what it means but I got it immediately.
When I was a young single mother and a rookie police officer I would think of my mortality, after one thing or another occurred at work and probably scared me. I wondered what would they tell my young son about his mom. And I thought, tell him when he sees a sunset, or stars in the sky that mommy put them in the sky just for him. When he missed his mom he would not have to look further than the sky and what mommy had painted for him.

Our God is surely and Awesome God.
Thank you

Danny, that was beautiful. As I study counseling and live life, I find myself struggling with cliche sayings as well. I know people mean well, but I think sometimes their anxiety about what others are going through causes them to say things to calm themselves rather than the person suffering.

I pray that your words will help people stop just for a moment and think before they speak-especially to someone who is suffering. Maybe if they sit in their anxiety for a second, they will find the grace and compassion to help the other person either through their silence, or they will find words to mourn with them as they suffer.

Adrienne- wow, thank you for your kind message. Truly, you've been and encouragement to Rayna and I tonight. Yes, sounds like we have similar stories. Amazing. Maybe try and find Rayna on Facebook if you get a chance. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you as you share so many similarities. Take care and thanks for writing.

I just listened to your interview on the app for Focus on my ipod touch. I sat in awe of God and how He sent me to download the app just last week and in my boredom today, led me to listen to this broadcast as I folded laundry. I, too, married a widowed man whom had three children with his first wife. She died of ovarian cancer on her 39th birthday. Our story is so similar to yours, it's actually amazing. We have been married over six years now and have a son who is four years old together. It's been so hard (and still is) at times and I have no idea what to do so many of those times. My husband is 15 1/2 years older than me, so our kids are 21, 19, 10 and 4. I have searched so many hours online trying to find someone that has been in a situation like mine to learn from. I'm really excited to see you have a book about this too. I will definitely be buying it very soon! There's so much to say, and not a lot of room to write or time, so I will stop babbling- I'm just so excited! I wanted to thank you both so much for sharing your very personal story in this broadcast and also for your music and book. I am looking forward to sharing your broadcast with my husband and also looking forward to being blessed with your words in your book. Again, thank you. You are an answer to prayer when I needed it most. God sent you as my encouragement that I'm not the only one who has had to deal with things in this situation. May God continue to shower His abundant blessings on you and your family. You are an amazing story.

I want one of those cute little cows! i love this post -- I relate to it so well! Parenting is not easy; that's for sure, but it all comes together down the road...trust me!

I've been traveling and finally can order your album -- can I get it on CD rather than a download? I wanted to add it to my collection if possible -- very eager to hear it! By the way, I always read your posts and love to follow up on what all of you are doing -- thanks for writing; please keep it up! [You should've seen me stamping my foot (while driving) and singing along to some of your previous recordings on my recent journeys across country!] A real blessing to me, always, to hear you sing for our Lord!

Dear Danny,
I actually wrote you a hand written letter and decided it was too silly to mail to you! I just opened it and wasted a stamp! But, I still want you to know what I was thinking and feeling after the release concert...this will be much better than an old fashion letter in the mail! Ha ha.
We enjoyed the concert more than any other. Just when we think you'll never be able to 'top that performance' you do! It was such a blessing to see your family on stage with you. to listen to Rayna sing, Grace talk about Compassion, Maggie dance and watching Jack do his thing was my favorite. it's so good for us to see your family and see how they support and help you and are so much a part of your music. Thank you for including them in your concert.
The song, "Given You a Name" touched my very soul and I cried the entire time you sang it. If only everyone knew that God gave them a name, that only He knows...before they were even born. It's an amazing thought and a powerful testimony of God's love us...even before He created us He loves us enough to write our name on a white stone. The world needs to hear that song and have the chance to understand this love God has for them.
Thank you for blessing our lives with your music Danny. With your family, your stories and your humor. we love you all and pray God will continue to bless this ministry.
Living for Heaven, because you taught me how,
